Fort Worth Stockyards – Fort Worth, TX
Once the largest livestock trading center in the country, where cattle, hogs, horses, mules, and sheep were bought and sold, the Fort Worth Stockyards has been restored, reimagined, and reinvented into a 70-acre mixed use entertainment district by Stockyards Heritage Development Company, a partnership between Majestic Realty Co. and The Hickman Companies.
Located near downtown Fort Worth, and a part of the National Historic District, the Fort Worth Stockyards has become one of the state’s most popular attractions with more than 9 million annual visitors from across the globe and local guests who are often introduced to the Stockyards history and heritage for the first time but return again and again. A trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards delivers an authentic glimpse of the American West within an award-winning redevelopment that provides world-class dining, shopping and entertainment surrounded by our region’s rich, storied history.
The first phase of development, Mule Alley, was completed in 2021 and includes a refurbished 180,000 square feet of legendary Horse and Mule Barns with tenants that include Simplifi, The American Paint Horse Association, PBR, Second Rodeo Brewing, Shake Shack, Lucchese, and more.
The Hotel Drover, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection® of hotels, anchors the entire historic district and delivers genuine Texas-hospitality. This award-winning hotel, which also opened its doors in 2021, features 200 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, as well as almost 40,000 square feet of meeting space and a dramatic, elegant barn for weddings, meetings and social events.
The Stockyards welcomes guests of all ages with more than 40 restaurants and bars, 50 unique shops, and 20 must-see attractions. Visitors can enjoy historic tours, museums, rodeos, live music, and more—all set against a rich, authentic Western backdrop. Adding to the experience, the world’s only twice-daily longhorn cattle drive takes place down the main street, led by real cowboy drovers.
Mule Alley and Hotel Drover are just the beginning. Through the Stockyards Heritage Development partnership, we will continue to honor the past while envisioning the future of this historic gem in the heart of Fort Worth. Our team has set its sights on the next phase of development, including the Stockyards Hotel, restaurant and bar – a legacy property and cornerstone of the 200-acre historic district.
We look forward to continuing to implement our vision for this great community as we showcase and honor the Fort Worth Stockyards.
