For the tenth consecutive holiday season, the Majestic Realty Foundation and tenants at Majestic Realty Co.’s Crossroads Business Park joined forces at the annual Crossroads Holiday Fundraiser to raise funds for local charities.  The 2010 event raised more than $120,000.

“Each year we are thrilled by the enthusiasm and support this event generates,” said Dave Bui, vice president, Majestic Realty’s office properties group.  “We are happy to support the tremendous work of the nonprofit sector right in our own backyard, and partnering with our tenants is a great way to help build sustainable communities.”

Guests enjoyed the festivities at the Atrium building at Crossroads Business Park

Proceeds from the Dec. 9 event will support four local nonprofit organizations:

  • East Valley Community Health Center—A Community Health Center that provides quality and accessible healthcare and health education services via two clinics in West Covina and Pomona to the low-income and underserved population of the East San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. www.evchc.org
  • Mt. San Antonio College Foundation—An organization which raises funds to support Mt. SAC and provide affordable, quality education to local students.  The Foundation supports unique programs on campus including the fire technology department, which helps to prepare the next generation of firefighters and paramedics, as well as the childhood development center which welcomes children of students, staff and community members from birth to age five regardless of gender, ethnicity, or physical disability. www.mtsacfoundation.org
  • Project Sister Family Services (PSFS)—The mission of Project Sister Family Services (PSFS) is to reduce the trauma and risk of sexual violence and child abuse. The organization provides a variety of crisis intervention services and prevention programs in the Eastern portion of Los Angeles County and the western portion of San Bernardino County. www.projectsister.org
  • THINK Together—An organization that provides free high quality academically-oriented after-school programs to more than 70,000 students in Southern California regardless of race, creed or socioeconomic status.  www.thinktogether.org

“Once again, THINK Together and the more than 8,000 academically at-risk students that we serve in the San Gabriel Valley are truly grateful to be one of the designated recipients of this year’s Crossroads Holiday Fundraiser.  We appreciate, not only the financial contribution that Majestic Realty Foundation is able to provide but as a high-quality after-school program, we are humbled by this show of confirmation over the work that we do,” said Randy Barth, founder and CEO.

Santa Claus visits with the guests during the Dec. 9 luncheon.
More than 1,300 attendees participated in the event.

More than 1,300 Majestic tenants, employees, vendors and guests attended the event, which was held at the Atrium Building of Crossroads Business Park. Guests purchased opportunity drawing tickets for the chance to win luxurious gift baskets, prizes and vacations, with all proceeds benefiting the selected nonprofits.  Additionally, guests brought donations of new, unwrapped toys to benefit the El Monte / South El Monte Emergency Resource Association. This year attendees were greeted by Santa Claus and treated to live performances by the Mt. San Antonio College Chamber Singers and the Jazz Band.  The Chamber Singers have won international acclaim as “Choir of the World” at an international musical competition in Wales.  Following the event, the fruit basket centerpieces were donated to two local food pantries – St. Stephen’s Community Outreach Program in Monterey Park and St. John Vianney Food Pantry in Hacienda Heights.

To reinforce employee giving, the contributions of all Majestic Realty Co. /Commerce Construction employees were matched two-to-one by the foundation’s generous employee matching program, funded by Majestic Realty Co. Chairman and CEO Edward P. Roski, Jr. and president, David A. Wheeler.

“Our employees are generous year-round, but it is especially gratifying to see their willingness to give during the holiday season, when so many local families are in need,” Roski said.

“At Majestic, we strive to be a leader in our field when it comes to philanthropic activities,” said Fran Inman, founding president of the Majestic Realty Foundation.  Not only do we look for creative ways to help the communities where we do business, but we also challenge ourselves to find ways to partner with our tenants and our suppliers to have an even bigger impact. This year, we once again achieved those goals.”
