City of Industry, CA (May 10, 2005) - Building on its most successful year to date, the Majestic Realty Foundation was recently ranked by Los Angeles Business Journal in top 10 of all corporate foundations in Los Angeles County, based on 2003 expenditures.

“This ranking speaks volumes about our commitment to the communities where we do business, especially when you consider that Majestic Realty Foundation is a relative newcomer, with 2003 being our first full year of operation,” said Fran Inman, president. “That we are ranked among the region’s most long-standing, well-known and most prestigious corporate charitable foundations is a tremendous honor for the Foundation and for Majestic Realty Co., its affiliated companies, and its employees.”

Inman elaborated on the Majestic Realty Foundation’s success, saying direct grants in 2004 were up more than 40 percent from 2003 and there was a proportional increase in volunteer endeavors on the part of Majestic Realty employees. “Together we now serve on more non profit boards and spend many more hours volunteering throughout our various communities,” she added.

Established in 2002, the Majestic Realty Foundation provides grants and other support to various charitable community partners that work the areas of youth, family, education, and health and violence prevention in the communities where Majestic Realty Co., one of the nation’s leading private commercial real estate developers, does business.

In 2003, the Majestic Realty Foundation reported expenditures of approximately $1.1 million, with grants awarded locally to a variety of organizations, including the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth and Community Center; Para Los Ninos; Ronald McDonald House; the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The foundation also raised another $750,000 in direct donations to various local charities including the City of Hope and Hillview Acres.

One recent grant-recipient was Claremont, Calif.-based Shoes That Fit, a charity that provides new shoes and backpacks to schoolchildren in need.

“The support we received from the Majestic Realty Foundation made a tremendous difference in our ability to help children in the City of Chino,” said Roni Lomeli, executive director. “One of our goals at Shoes that Fit is to expand our reach into Southern California communities, and the Majestic Realty Foundation helped us accomplish a piece of that goal.”

The Foundation also provided a grant to the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles to support innovative programs for minority youth that promote healthy nutrition and physical activity, and to fund research into obesity-related issues in children, including diabetes.

“The generous grant from the Majestic Realty Foundation helps make these programs and research possible, and we are thankful for their support of our efforts to improve children’s health.” said Dr. Francine R. Kaufman, director of the center and a professor of pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.

Majestic Realty Chairman and CEO Edward P. Roski Jr. called the foundation’s top-10 ranking a major milestone, citing the company’s legacy of community service starting with his father, the late Edward P. Roski Sr., who founded the company in 1948.

“My father started Majestic with little more than a dream and a good head for business,” Roski said. “Along the way, he always made sure to help those less fortunate and to give back to the communities where he did business. It is a tradition that is ingrained in our corporate culture to this day and I know he would be so proud of this honor for the Majestic Realty Foundation.”

In addition to providing grants in Southern California, the Majestic Realty Foundation also funds worthy organizations in southern Nevada, Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, all communities where Majestic Realty Co. does business.
