Tenant Event Benefits Charities
San Gabriel Valley Tribune - December 17, 2001
INDUSTRY -- More than 700 attended real estate firm Majestic Realty Co.'s
annual tenant function this week, and the Industry-based outfit turned the
event into a benefit for area charities.
The company raised more than $10,000 for several area causes, including
the Boys and Girls Club of San Gabriel Valley, the Salvation Army Red Shield
Program, YWCA Wings Program - Little Wings Outreach, MacLaren Children's
Center and El Monte/South El Monte Emergency Resource Association.
"This is the first year that we made it a benefit fund-raiser," said Fran
Inman, senior vice president at Majestic. "We took a different twist to our
annual holiday luncheon.
"I think after 9/11, everybody is just really taking a look at priorities
and wanting to reach out. In the spirit of the season, we decided we wanted
to do something different this year."
Among the tenants who donated at the event were Wildan Geology and
Geotechnical Group; Olympic Tools; General Electric; Lee & Associates;
Lithonia Lighting; and Jimmy's Signs.
Majestic Realty also donated money and raised funds by raffling its
luxury suite at the Staples Center for a Lakers basketball game.
Toys and canned goods were also donated at the event, which was attended
by Ed Roski Jr., president and chief executive officer of Majestic.
"As industry leaders, we consistently set high standards and our
community involvement is no different," he said in a statement. "And we
look forward to partnering with our tenants to share the spirit of the
season in our local community."
